Something to Brighten A Rainy day

For all the strong, independent young adults out there:

Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think"

Christopher Robin to Pooh Bear

Its that time of the semester that life is crazy and everyone wants to go home for break, but maybe with a little motivation we can make the best of this next week and try to not have an aneurysm on the drive home. Breathe. Do Yoga. Try to De Stress...

Happy Monday

So I've been reading my favorite blogs and one of them has been posting of their 5 things that have been making them smile for the day or week...In spirit of that I would like to post 5 things that I am happy about this evening
1. My beagle, Dodger

2. Get Him to The Greek (SEE THIS MOVIE!)

3. Anything with Cinnamon Sugar...This Cinnamon French Toast from Vegweb.com really hits the spot

Makes 2 servings

2 Tbsp. Flour ( I use Whole Wheat usually)
About 1 C. Soymilk (or any kind)
2 Slices Bread
Cinnamon!

Mix the flour and as much cinnamon as you would like in a bowl, slowly stir in soymilk. Dip bread and squish into mixture until soaked. November Has Come

Leaves are falling.....
What I love about the turn of fall and the coming of the winter months  (except pumpkin spice lattes) is all the cute layers you get to pile on! Bundled up  allows for fun combinations of textures and colors which really creates a funky vibe. Wear something like this with the socks pushed down so they show over the moccasins and enjoy the scenery!

Quote of The Day

"I laugh, I love, I hope, I try, I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry. And I know you do the same things too, So we're really not that different, me and you."

Just a little thought for your day.

Pirate Radio

PIRATE RADIO

If you haven't seen Pirate Radio yet then shame on you. However I will give you the benefit of the doubt and give you the basic rundown. Pirate Radio is the story of the illegal radio stations that floated in the North Sea and broadcast to the United Kingdom in the 1960s. Besides the rocking music throughout the film, the style of the people on the boat and on shore are very 70s and very trendy. Since the 70s style is really no longer appropriate except for Halloween parties I reinterpreted it for you.
Pirate Radio
The little elements like lace, funky hats, opaque legs, saddle shoes, and ethnic/nature inspired jewelry brings the 70s to the 21st century and to campus. This kind of look, reminiscent of an era is great for everyday because it brings that little bit of personal style to your look.
P.S. Remember to braid your hair!

So go see Pirate Radio!

One Day

Music Inspired:
ONE DAY by MATISYAHU
Let your inner hippie shine and bring peace to the world! This song makes me want to sing, dance and celebrate life, which is really feeling necessary at this point of the semester :(
Untitled
"We don't wanna fight no more"
Lyrics & Link to Video (So you can feel the beat)

sometimes I lay

under the moon
and thank God I'm breathing
then I pray
don't take me soon
cause I am here for a reason
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
so when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
because
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
it's not about
win or lose
we all lose
when they feed on the souls of the innocent
blood drenched pavement
keep on moving though the waters stay raging
in this maze you can lose your way (your way)
it might drive you crazy but don't let it faze you no way (no way)
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
so when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
because
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
one day this all will change
treat people the same
stop with the violence
down with the hate
one day we'll all be free
and proud to be
under the same sun
singing songs of freedom like
one day x4
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
